🔐 Password Management

🧱 List or Tiles

A switch in the toolbar changes between two presentations:

The switch lives in the toolbar of the folder view, so it stays reachable on every navigation level - including subfolders.

Create and Edit Entries

Create new passwords with all important information:

📊 Security Dashboard

The dashboard analyzes all your passwords and gives you a quick overview:

Security Score

A value from 0-100% shows you how secure your passwords are overall:

Statistics

Total Count - How many passwords do you have?
Folders - Number of your folders
OTP Entries - Entries with two-factor authentication
Compromised - Passwords found in data breaches
Weak Passwords - Too short or simple passwords
Duplicates - Reused passwords

Have I Been Pwned Check

Check all your passwords with one click against the largest database of known data breaches. Your password is never transmitted - only the first 5 characters of a hash are used.

Results are kept: The outcome is stored as a field inside the entry in your own database instead of being fetched again on every start. Less network traffic, and the history stays visible.

⏱️ One-Time Passwords (OTP)

iKeePass supports time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) for two-factor authentication:

Real-time Codes - 6-digit codes that change every 30 seconds
Countdown Display - See exactly how long the current code is valid
One-Click Copy - Tap the code to copy it
Auto-Refresh - Codes update in real-time

🔢 Detail View

The "…" button next to each code opens a view of its own:

ℹ️ Entries whose code sits in the KDBX field “TOTP Seed” now show up reliably in the OTP list as well.

🛡️ Security Features

Face ID / Touch ID

Unlock your database conveniently with Face ID or Touch ID:

Quick access without password entry
Securely stored in iOS Keychain
Can be disabled at any time

Auto-Lock

Your database is automatically locked:

Immediately - On every app switch
After 1/3/5/15 minutes - Configurable timeout
Never - For maximum convenience (not recommended)

⏱️ Auto Logout

Beyond locking, iKeePass can sign itself out after a chosen time: the database is closed and the key material discarded.

ℹ️ The setting is stored inside the KDBX file, so it applies on every device that opens the same database - iPhone and Mac behave the same way.

Privacy Shield

When you switch apps, your passwords are automatically hidden:

Blur effect over the entire app
Protects from prying eyes in the app switcher
App logo displayed instead of sensitive data

Clipboard Protection

Copied passwords are automatically cleared from the clipboard:

Choose: 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 or 2 minutes
Prevents accidental pasting elsewhere

🔑 AutoFill

Automatically fill passwords in apps and Safari:

Enable in iOS Settings → Passwords → AutoFill
Select iKeePass as AutoFill provider
Done! - Login fields will automatically show suggestions

📦 Archive Feature

Clean up your passwords without deleting them:

Archive instead of Delete - Hide old entries
Custom Archive Folder - Name freely configurable (default: “Backup”)
Search Exclusion - Optionally exclude archived entries from search
Dashboard Exclusion - Archived entries don’t affect the Security Score

🔍 Spotlight Search

Your entries can be found from the iOS Spotlight search:

Title, user name and URL are indexed - never the password
Tapping a result opens the entry directly in iKeePass
The index can be switched off and rebuilt in the settings
Closing the database removes the index again

A WidgetKit widget puts the one-time codes of the open database on your home screen:

No secret ever leaves the app. It calculates the codes in advance and places only the finished digits, plus their validity window, in the shared app group; the widget reads them and counts down.

When no database is open, the widget shows a short notice instead of codes.

📥 Import from the Apple Passwords App

Bring passwords, verification codes and passkeys over from the Apple Passwords app:

Credential Exchange (FIDO CXP) - encrypted handover between the two apps, without an unencrypted export file
Preview before the import - every item is listed first
Duplicate check - entries you already have are recognised
Target group - the import lands in the folder you choose
Marked with 📥 - imported entries stay recognisable
Rollback - as long as you have not saved, the whole import can be undone

⚠️ The Credential Exchange interface requires iOS 26. On older systems iKeePass shows a notice in its place.
